Tired but happy. It was a truly lovely time. And now I'm all excited again to get sewing! For the last 10 months I've had some big deadlines and seriously over-ambitious sewing plans. It's wonderful to have that pressure finally gone, but still with the momentum to work on things. Time for fun planning!

And on the subject of Virginia, here's my post for the new American Duchess "Virginia" shoes giveaway!

The American Duchess shoes are generally an excellent balance of historical accuracy and modern manufacturing: the middle ground between gorgeous, individually-sewn, fantastically expensive reproductions, or "looks close enough" modern shoes. What's particularly exciting about the "Virginias" is that they were designed in collaboration with the head costumer for the Jamestown historical site, intended for use by their interpreters. That's pretty awesome!  The result is a high-quality product, based on a LOT of research and a real commitment to representing the past.

The pre-order ends in a few weeks, so don't wait too long!
