nuranar: Hortense Bonaparte. La reine Hortense sous une tonnelle à Aix-les-Bains (1813) by Antoine Jean Duclaux. (Default)
If only it were so easy. ;) So I'm whipping the pieces together like [profile] the_aristocat told me to, and it's going smoothly. But then there really is no "ridge" on the inside because the layers of wool and linen just squish enough. Is there supposed to be? I can keep making the whipped stitches deeper and deeper, I guess; I'm already biting into the reed with my needle. The only thing I can think is to go back and whip down the seam allowances with TINY stitches as tightly as possible; and I'm still not sure that'll work.

Is this a big deal or do I just need to keep going?
