THEY PICKED US AS FINALISTS!
I'm gobsmacked, as they say! It's now up for a public vote. (SO SCARY.) If you want to watch and take a vote, I would be personally very grateful.

But mostly I'm just amazed and thrilled that our very non-presentation-quality video was picked by their judges. :D

Date: 2015-10-24 02:30 am (UTC)By the way, how are you holding up with the weather? I've been hearing about all the rain that's about to be compounded by the remnants of super-cane Patricia. :Þ (We're *still* unseasonably warm here, when we should have started getting some cooler snaps by now. And still a bit more humid than I'd like, although it's wound down to random showers instead of storms/downpours.)

Date: 2015-10-24 04:20 am (UTC)Actually, I'm doing pretty great myself. I haven't been watching the news, so I don't know if there's been anything serious elsewhere. It's been pretty dry since the spring monsoon, so mostly I'm thrilled; I've gotten over 4" since it started yesterday afternoon. And we're not done yet.
Yeah, we were in the upper 90s through last week; even set a record last Thursday. (Ugh.) I hope the cooler air gets to you soon.

Date: 2015-10-24 04:39 am (UTC)Interestingly, although the summer storms have passed, there are still coastal flooding concerns along the Atlantic. Apparently it has to do instead with El Nino and Gulf Stream conditions. On a drive out toward the coast recently, I noticed the St. John's River (which you and I crossed in going to St. Augustine) was creeping up rather alarmingly toward the highway.
