Here are my seven habits/quirks/facts:
1. I dislike my hair being in front of/over my ears or touching/over my eyebrows. (This is why it's always at least pulled back on the sides, although I can tolerate it being completely down for short periods.)
2. I am left-handed. However, I knit, crochet, and iron right-handed. I can use the proper scissors with either hand, and have been known to use both at once. I butter my bread left-handed and cut my meat right-handed. The left hand has the fork, naturally!
3. I have three lower incisors instead of four. The fourth wasn't pulled or knocked it; it simply was never there.
4. I love natural sunlight and prefer it over all artificial light. I dislike overhead artificial light and prefer dimmer lamplight at night.
5. I also love the wind. Windy days are my favorites, even when it's icy cold or disgustingly hot.
6. I have difficulty doing other people's hair, although I'm pretty good with my own. I simply don't get the practice.
7. I liked to drive a whole lot more before I had to drive so much to work and school.

I tried to work on the database project last night, but it's kind of tricky. As in I don't really understand what the end result is supposed to be and what the hints/suggestions in the assignments mean. I've had a little bit of help from the professor, but he wants to wait until class Thursday before discussing them. I do understand that, much as I'd like to get this out of the way; it's not due until next Tuesday.
So instead of spending the evening possibly getting a little done on the project, I'm going to do some sewing. And since I have a whole evening, instead of spending it on the chemise or something, I think I'll work on the lounging pyjamas. I don't think I'm going to muslin this, since they're just pyjamas and my usual fitting issue shouldn't be much of a problem. I still need to iron and trace or just go ahead and cut out the pattern.
Speaking of cutting out, I still really would like input on how to do this two-tone thing. My main color is gray, and my contrast is a deep red/raspberry. I'm going the long-sleeve view.

Of course collar and cuffs will be raspberry. But what about the top/jacket part? I'm not sure how much rasperry I've got. Probably less than a yard. If one part of the top could be raspberry-colored, should it be the top or the midriff? And what about the sleeves?
And then there's the weather again. After a dead-average January, slightly warmer after the Great Cold of the holidays and unpleasantly cold and humid in the last two weeks (including a front on early Tuesday which brought us down in the mid- to upper-20s), snow is back in the forecast. For tomorrow, specifically. Snow in February isn't unknown - the Valentine's Day snow of 2004 was noteworthy - but it's atypical. Especially after repeated snow in December and a couple of flurry instances in January.
The forecast is for rain/snow beginning after midnight Wednesday night/Thursday morning, continuing with snow through the day Thursday into the evening. Accumulation of 1-3.5 inches. High barely above freezing, low Thursday night only 29.
For me, this means that
(1) Getting to work Thursday morning may be interesting.
(2) Getting to school Thursday afternoon may be even more interesting.
- Unless school is cancelled. (This is very probable unless de snow go fizzle.) If school is cancelled,
- Getting home from work may be the most interesting of all.
(3) Impressions rehearsal may be cancelled to keep people from getting out. This would make me sad, but it's very likely unless the snow is a Major Fizzle.
So I'll just hang loose, dress warmly in case of mishap, keep an eye on the UTA website, and Be Prepared to use the time wisely!
By the way, this weather system has nothing to do with what's going on on the East Coast. Ourweather cold weather comes straight down over the Plains from Canada or the Arctic, occasionally by way of the Rockies.
Week of 8 Feb
Monday:Package corset supplies for Atlanta. Impressions ensemble practice. Read online DB notes. (Whoops, forgot that one. Did it Tuesday.)
Tuesday:Work on DB project. (Find out yardage.) Mail the package to Atlanta either on the way to work or after school.
Wednesday: Work on lounging pajamas - get the pattern ready and cut out if possible.
Thursday: Class, then Impressions rehearsal. Both weather permitting.
Friday - Sunday: Finish DB project. Then work on muslin for the trousers, provided the pattern has arrived. Wash and iron the corduroy when it arrives. Sew on chemise and watch a movie when I need a break.
