nuranar: (1940s)
[personal profile] nuranar
The last couple of nights I've stayed up a little later than I wanted to. But it was worth it! Last night I got the front insets in and the pockets finished, so I could sew the shoulders and side seams together.  Particularly in linen, this dress needs to hang more than a day to get a fairly even hem.

Of course I had to slip it on, even though I didn't even press the seams yet.  And even without proper undies, it fits! The bodice in particular.  I tell you, my upper body is THE model of the 1930s/40s Simplicity sloper. :D

Anyway, this dress is going to be super cute. I can't wait to work on it tonight! Spring Break from choir!

Personal list of (non-hem) things to do:

* Sleeves
* Zipper
* Bias tape
     - White bits for part of neckline + blue bit
     - Blue lengths for sleeve cuffs
* Belt
    - Blue covered belting
    - White buckle from stash
* Pick stitching
* Shoulder pads
