I've never actually been to Trader Joe's, but I've tasted and had friends send me things from there. This is pretty exciting! Opening June 15, on Hulen just south of Vickery.

There are other stores that will be opening all over Texas: in central Dallas, Plano, San Antonio, and The Woodlands, all soon or on June 15. A store in Austin is scheduled for 2013.

It's a great store! Have you ever tried the graham crackers?

Nope! What are they like?

REALLY good. They taste more like cookies than crackers, I think. :-) They're called "Old-Fashioned Cinnamon Grahams" and they come in a plastic tub. Something to look for when you get your store!

Fun!! I like Trader Joe's. We like their frozen meals- but some are really amazing and some not so much. Still better than regular ones at the super market :)
They have this yummy desert frozen thing that's perfect for tea and has little cakes in raspberry, chocolate, etc. It's YUMMY. And the chocolate croissants are fun, cause you proof them overnight and they get HUGE.

Ooh, I like having frozen meals on hand for when I run out of time!
And that dessert sounds amazing. And chocolate croissants?! Wow!

Would you believe I've never had a macaron?

Wait...they have *fresh* macarons? And here I've been buying the frozen ones and waiting (forever) for them to thaw.

My mother thought there was one over by Disney, but looking at their website, the only Florida locations are in Naples (way south) and a "coming soon" in Sarasota (south of Tampa).

Yay! I LOVE Trader Joe's. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure. :)

In fact, I'm currently snacking on something from TJ's: Kettle Corn. Dangerously delicious!

More suggestions? *g* Any of the desserts are good. And yes, they have macarons. :D The Belgian Chocolate Pudding is *amazing*. Like fancyfrocks, I've had mixed luck with their pre-packaged meals: your best bets are the fresh/refrigerated meals and not the frozen, IMHO. (Some of the frozen stuff, like the curried rice, is great; others, not so much.) I like their soups, too.

FWIW, I've found that some things - like the soup - taste a little bland, because they don't pack them full of strange ingredients, and often try to keep the sodium down. Don't let it put you off: a little extra salt and spices work wonders.

Could not live without Trader Joe's! Great prices on staples (milk, eggs, cereals), terrific bread (TJ's "Gourmet White" for sandwiches), lovely fresh vegetables--oh, and Olive Oil Kettle- cooked Potato Chips that are to die for. You will LOVE the store!
