Highway construction is not a fun thing, as a rule. However.

When they've put up free-standing columns, or maybe rows, but not yet laid the long beams for the overpasses, it's like driving through ancient ruins in Greece. Really, it is. Especially in summer, when the sun's a bright white glare on the concrete dust all around. Or during sunrise or sunset, and you can catch a glimpse of the sky without the city around you.

Just close your eyes and imagine.

(except not when you're actually driving)

Wow. Ancient Greece meets futuristic sci-fi something.

Great shot, and I love the sunset/rise. Does DFW often have such pretty colors at sunrise and sunset?

Very pretty. :-)

:)

Come to think of it, I think we do. I've never really lived elsewhere, so I take it for granted! It doesn't tend to be super humid, and except during the super hot streaks there's usually some clouds - that's what really makes the sunrises and sets beautiful. :)

This post made me smile. I love that I'm not the only one who thinks like that. :-D

I also saw a resemblance to the Mines of Moria in the 1960s-era arcade on the north side of the Texas A&M library. ;)

I was googling for an image to just give any idea - this was even better than I'd expected! That's not a site I've driven by, but there is seriously a LOT of construction all over both counties right now.
