Let's try this again!
1 January 2017 08:44 pmI fell off the daily posting bandwagon several months ago, but I really did like it. It gets easier as I keep going, because I stop feeling the pressure to "catch up" on everything I've been doing. So I won't! Just a few notes:
- Trying a new layout for the living room. It's not perfect, but I'm liking it pretty well so far. Somehow I never have enough side tables and lamps...
- I had another major migraine event the 26th and 27th of December. That's 2 for 2016; the other was back in April. The tension headaches are an ongoing issue, but I cannot forget that pushing myself too hard is a really, really bad idea. This one had to be the result of extremely stressful work AND trying to finish a lot of sewing projects in time for Christmas. The tension headache did trigger a migraine.
- And in that vein, I can't do more than 3 choirs for Christmas events. Far too many rehearsals and not enough rest. I have to say no.
- I'm working with my family to build a faux fireplace in my bedroom. It will be built around an electric fire (light and heat or just light), with a white mantelpiece and a tile surround and low hearth. The tile is going to be amazing - I'm using the three-tile Glasgow Rose set on either side (mirrored) with light green tiles above and dark green for the heart. It is going to be lovely.
- I'm a little uncertain about sewing goals. I really want to do some nice 1860s stuff for Gettysburg; I just wish it would be easier to wear it at CoCo as well. And the guild keeps scheduling awesome stuff that needs Teens. I just cannot get around to making all that stuff for a new period! Especially since pushing myself is not an option any more.
