After a very VERY long delay, I finally got in gear and cropped/uploaded more Regency fashion plates from the Bibliothèque des Arts Décoratifs!

I'm very pleased to hereby present... 1814... 1815... AND 1816!

These are fabulous! Thank-you SO MUCH for sharing these - that must have been a ton of work!

Yay, I'm glad you like them! I wouldn't say it's a ton of work, but it gets really tedious really fast. And there are so many per year, it seems to go very slowly. I'm nearly to 1820, though, so I need to re-discover how to download more source images. Or I might do the 1860s ones next - there aren't as many of them. They're a bit mixed up, though. Lots of 1866 ones in the 1861/2 folders, grr.

So pretty, and thanks for sharing!

Also, the ones with just the hems sticking out made me think of this petticoat:

I had always thought of it with a spencer, but now, something like this. There are just too many things I want to make :)

You're welcome! It's as much for me as for everyone else - I get so wound up in research that it's a huge help to have one large, organized source.

I'm so glad you pointed that one out. I always thought of it as an underdress for a sheer overgown, but it makes even more sense as one of the hem-peeking gowns. There are so many of them in these years! I can't decide yet if I like the silhouette - it's not one I've seen in real life. I guess I'll have to try it for myself to find out. :)

I'm not completely sure if I like it either, but I'm often drawn to the odd, which this certainly is!

I'm really liking the collar on the yellow and blue one too. It's just so cute! It may be in my future :)

And I think it could work under a sheer gown too. Very practical--a lot of looks for one embroidered thing!

I have to admit, this isn't my favourite fashion era. BUT... that one with the black bodice/pink sash really appeals to me. Hmmm. Ideas. :-) Thanks for sharing!

Beautiful! Thanks for posting. I love the bonnets! And the evening dress with the green bodice and white skirt and green slippers. Delicious!

so I actually clicked through to your Flickr page, and WOW! Fantastic. I'm gonna post a link to your scans on my men's regency blog, if that's okay with you. Yay for pretty pictures!
