I don't know how they're playing! The falling snow alone is so heavy it's hard to see anything, much less a football in the air. (They're still making completions!) But even funnier, it's only the end of the first quarter and snow is several inches deep on the field. There was a fumble and the ball almost got lost and buried. And when anyone falls or is tackled face-down, his helmet face mask gets literally FULL of snow! They can't remove their helmets on the field, so some of them shake it out, but at least one had to go to the sidelines to clear it out. Insane and hilarious!

The temperature has risen slightly as the wind has shifted to the south/southwest, and now the sun is coming out. So the ice is melting. We'll see if enough gets cleared off the roads to make them reliably navigable - I've seen one car on my street, which is a hill, spin its wheels just an hour ago.

Dad just told me to turn on the Philadelphia Eagles football game right now on Fox Sports. Absolute blizzard in Philly! It's our storm!  Crazy - the snow is so heavy it's hard to see, and they're having to clear the yard line markers and numbers regularly. Even if you're not a football fan, you ought to tune in just to see the crazy.

I seem to have fallen completely off the LJ bandwagon this Christmas, mostly due to a lovely time with family, friends, books, puzzles, sewing, knitting, and football.  Lots of lots of football. Including my very first bowl game in person!

More of that later, however.  I suspect I've got several hundred friends' page entries to catch up on!  In the meantime, though, I'm seeking recommendations for things to watch online.  I'm thinking mostly YouTube, like that one [livejournal.com profile] suededsilk found of The Secret of the Incas, which I still haven't watched and is on my list.  Any other recommendations?

The Yankees are having a total meltdown. They're falling apart almost worse than the Cowboys did yesterday.

GO RANGERS!!!!
